Talk to a Practicing Level III
When you have a hard call to make, a written practice that needs review, or a procedure question that doesn't have a clean textbook answer — get a second opinion from a currently practicing NDT Level III in shipbuilding and fabrication.
Three Ways to Engage
Single Written Question
One scoped, written question answered by a practicing Level III within two business days. Best for quick "is this approach defensible?" or "is this finding rejectable per the code?" questions.
- One question per submission, one submission per email per 30 days
- Answer returned by email; no scheduled call
- Not a substitute for your employer's Level III for actual qualification decisions
30 or 60-Minute Video Call
One-on-one video call with a practicing Level III. Bring your written practice, procedure draft, qualification record, or specific accept/reject case. Walk away with a written summary memo.
- Pre-call intake form so we use the time well
- Recorded summary memo delivered within two business days
- Common topics: written practice review, procedure markup, audit-prep, defect call review
Monthly Retainer
For shipyards and inspection companies that need ongoing access to a Level III as projects evolve. A set number of consultation hours per month, rolling, with priority response.
- Best for small employers without an in-house Level III
- Or for any employer wanting a standing second opinion
- Scope and pricing agreed in writing before engagement begins

Boundaries of This Service
Applied NDT consultation supports your employer’s qualification process. It does not replace it. Final certification of personnel, acceptance of indications, and release of inspection reports remain the responsibility of the employer’s qualified Level III in accordance with the employer’s written practice. Consultation responses are advisory and provided in good faith based on the information you supply; they do not constitute a contractual inspection finding or a third-party certification unless otherwise specified in writing for a given engagement.
